Among items addressed at Tuesday’s Olive Branch Board of Aldermen meeting, aldermen approved a zoning map amendment to allow for an 85-slot recreational vehicle park in the southwest corner of West Sandidge Road and Ross Road. The request rezones nearly 25 acres from Single Family Residential to a Planned Unit Development. The Olive Branch Recreational Vehicle Park is owned by Amji Investments, LLC,
City leaders agreed to allow an extra day to the schedule of the Light Garden holiday light show at Olive Branch City Park to push the fireworks show climax event from New Year’s Eve to the evening of New Year’s Day. Wet, rainy weather, and now the threat of frigid cold weather, has affected the schedule and attendance of the Light Garden’s first of two years under the contract with the city.
Work will also start soon to add a traffic signal at state Highway 302 and Braybourne Main Drive. The Mississippi Department of Transportation has a contract for the project.
Mayor Ken Adams also presented the November Mayor’s Award to Utility Customer Service Technician Richard Quinn Mitchell.
