Mayor Ken Adams and the Olive Branch Police and Fire departments warned Friday that most of Mississippi faces severe storms, damaging winds up to 60 mph and quarter-size hail beginning Friday afternoon into the overnight hours. Officials urged residents to stay weather aware.

The Hernando Main Street Chamber of Commerce said it attended a Women in Business luncheon in Southaven presented by Community Bank that featured a panel of women leaders and a keynote by Aundrea Self of Mississippi State University.

A local organization invited the community to celebrate Denise’s Happy Hounds LLC’s third anniversary Monday, praising the business for its community support, the group said in a social media post.

A motor vehicle crash with injuries closed Goodman Road westbound at Alexander Road, Mayor Ken Adams said. Traffic is being diverted northbound onto Alexander Road and motorists were urged to use alternate routes.

The Southaven Chamber of Commerce is promoting a Star Wars‑inspired Par Wars golf and games tournament at Olive Branch Country Club, with pickleball, a costume contest and proceeds benefiting the chamber foundation, the chamber said.

Panola County Sheriff’s Office said Triston Wolfe, who had been reported missing from the Goodhope Road area, has been found.

Mayor Ken Adams and the Olive Branch Police and Fire departments said the slight risk (level 2 of 5) was modified, with a low chance of damaging winds Friday morning and the main threat in the afternoon and evening.

The City of Olive Branch urged residents to give a nesting pair named Ollie and Blanche space near City Hall and provided wildlife rehab contacts for assistance.

A notice says the northern portion of the playground at Church Park is temporarily closed after a large broken tree branch was found overhead. A tree service is expected by the end of the day, the notice said.

The Civic Center said it will use the same north entrance traffic pattern from Tuesday night for Thursday, April 23, and that the south gate will not change.
