Earth Day and Hernando Farmers Market

Earth Day in DeSoto County promotes environmental awareness and community engagement.

An estimated 1,000 spectators lined the parade route that featured bands, vehicles, floats, and of course, veterans.

Dickens of a Christmas started Friday night with the lighting of the Christmas tree in the Courthouse Square and the reading of a Christmas story.

Every year, the Water Tower Festival features arts and crafts and business vendors for locals and tourists alike to shop from.

The Hernando Courthouse Square again held the 50th A’Fair, hosted by the Hernando Optimist Club.

A large tree graced the square in front of the County Courthouse for years, but a few weeks ago was destroyed by lightning on April 2.

Hernando celebrates veterans with annual Veterans Parade and luncheon.

The committee is also in charge of an annual Christmas luncheon at the Armory for National Guard families.

Information about the annual Hernando Optimist Club’s A’Fair event has been released.
