City of Olive Branch officials read ‘Shellby’s Stormwater Adventure’ to students across DeSoto County to teach ways to protect waterways, the city said.

The Hernando Main Street Chamber of Commerce said in a social media post that it welcomed The Veteran’s Veteran and highlighted owner Drew Jones’ services, including post-service coaching, benefits-claim consulting and GI Bill maximization.

Organizers said Truck Patch Revival will perform 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, on the courthouse lawn. Legacy New Homes — North Mississippi and Southern Bancorp Bank are sponsoring the event.

The Olive Branch Police Department said officers read to kindergarten classes at Overpark Elementary to teach students how to protect stormwater systems and keep drainage areas clean.

Olive Branch Mayor Ken Adams, Police Chief Carlos Garcia and the Olive Branch Police Department congratulated Sgt. Juan Euceda on 10 years of service, the department said. The department praised his leadership and said he serves as a shift supervisor on the Patrol Alpha shift.

Northwest Mississippi Community College says Northwest Theatre premieres “Damn Yankees” tonight. Performances are scheduled April 17, 18, 24 and 25 at 7 p.m., and April 18, 19, 25 and 26 at 2 p.m., the college said.

The annual Playing With a Purpose Golf Tournament supports The Arc Northwest Mississippi, organizers said. Participants can form teams or sponsor the event to help fund the organization’s programs.
