Reeves loosens more COVID restrictions

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves today (Friday) issued his latest Executive Order that removes mask restrictions statewide, except for schools, and removes attendance restrictions for sports and concert venues, stadiums and arenas.

This order, Executive Order 1551, removes capacity limits for arenas and outdoor venues so they can return to full capacity. It is expected to be effective as of 5 p.m. today. The new executive order repeals all prior orders, according to the Governor’s office.

Businesses may still have their own mask restrictions and social distance requirements, but none of that will come from the state level.

Schools will continue their mask requirements through the end of the school year, according to Reeves’ latest order.
