Officials working to stop precious metals scheme

State officials are working with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and 26 states to stop a $68 million precious metals scheme. Defendants were accused of targeting seniors or those close to retirement age, “preying on fears and jeopardized their fixed incomes.”

Following is the release jointly issued by Attorney General Lynn Fitch and Secretary of State Michael Watson.
