Democratic women to host Zoom political forum

The Mississippi Federation of Democratic Women is hosting a political forum on Monday, May 2, from 7-8:30 p.m. via Zoom and open to the public. The forum will have all seven Democratic candidates who are running for the U.S. House of Representatives on the call to hear their positions on their candidacy. The list of candidates will include the two Democrats running in the June primary from the First Congressional District, Hunter Avery and Dianne Dodson Black. 

The others who are expected to participate are Second District candidates Gerald Kerner and current Congressman Bennie G. Thompson; Shuwaski Young, who is the lone Democrat running in the Third District, and Fourth District candidates Dr. Johnny Dupree and David Sellers. 

The format will be a live, online interview with each candidate, who will have two minutes to answer a series of questions. Political forum guests must register in advance to receive the Zoom invitation to their email address. Registration is open until the event is full and registration is available at www.MFDW.org

Voters are reminded that the absentee voting period started in Mississippi counties on April 25. Primary election day is Tuesday, June 7 during the hours of 7 a.m.-7 p.m.Check out the Mississippi Secretary of State website at https://www.sos.ms.gov/yall-vote for useful information for voters.
