Democratic Association of Secretaries of State endorses Pinkins

Democratic nominee for Mississippi Secretary of State, Ty Pinkins, earned the endorsement of The Democratic Association of Secretaries of State (DASS) – The leading national organization dedicated to electing and protecting the election of Democratic Secretaries of State.  DASS is a 527-member political committee that prides itself as the last line of defense in the protection of democracy and the will of the voters.

After two decades as a politician, Michael Watson has little to show the people of Mississippi,” said Executive Director Travis Brimm. “They deserve a change – and Ty Pinkins is that change. A son of the Delta, Ty served his country for 21 years as a combat veteran in the United States Army – along the way, he became the first in his family to graduate from high school, college, and law school. Ty truly represents the American Dream – and as Secretary of State, he will ensure that all Mississippians can fully participate in that Dream.”

Pinkins is an attorney, veteran, author, and a former Presidential Communications Aide to both Democratic and Republican Presidents. If elected, Pinkins’ vision is to fight for issues surrounding the lack of an online voter registration system in Mississippi, no excuse – early voting, same-day voter registration, and absentee voting for any reason. He also seeks to reinstate the ballot initiative and supports the overturning of Mississippi’s felony disenfranchisement law.

“The support of DASS is imperative to the success of any Secretary of State office,” Pinkins said. “This organization champion causes around voter registration, expanding voting access administratively, maintaining voter rolls, and administering elections; all of which our campaign aspires to improve in our state. To have their support and guidance is an honor and is greatly appreciated.”
