Bryant, Barbour endorse Hall for State House District 20
Two former Mississippi governors have inserted themselves into the Republican primary race for the new House District 20 with their endorsement of one of the candidates.
Rodney Hall Tuesday announced the endorsement of former Mississippi governors Phil Bryant and Haley Barbour in his House District 20 Republican primary campaign. Hall is running against Southaven Alderman Charlie Hoots on the Republican side with no Democratic opposition in the November general election.
“Receiving the endorsement of Governor Phil Bryant and Governor Haley Barbour is a profound honor,” Hall said. “Their support reinforces my unwavering commitment to championing conservative principles and creating an atmosphere where businesses can flourish, jobs can grow, and the future of Mississippi shines brighter than ever before.”
Hall was endorsed earlier in the campaign by the Mississippi Police Benevolent Association (PBA) and the Business and Industry Political Education Committee (BIPEC) naming Rodney Hall as the best choice for businesses and jobs.
Bryant served as governor 2012 to 2020 and Barbour’s term was from 2004 to 2012. Hall’s campaign touted Bryant for his pro-business policies and noted Barbour’s work as chairman of the Republican National Committee.
Hall announced his campaign for the new House District 20 in January.
