Weiss paces Tigers at Senatobia cross country meet

Graham Weiss of Hernando was the boys’ individual winner, and led by individual winner Riley Jackson, the Lady Tigers had three of the top four finishers at the Senatobia 5 Star City Invitational cross country meet Saturday.
Weiss, a sophomore, won the boys’ varsity five-kilometer run in a time of 18:14.6. Runners from Lewisburg and Center Hill also took part. Sophomore Hudson McRae was Lewisburg’s top finisher, taking 15th place in a time of 20:41.6. Center Hill was paced by junior Jonathon Brewster, who was 17th overall with a time of 20:53.2.
Germantown won the team championship over second-place Hernando, 25-36. Lewisburg was fifth with 149 points, one fewer than sixth place Center Hill at 150.
Jackson, a sophomore, won the girls’ title in a time of 21:26.50, almost 15 seconds faster than teammate Jessica Cartwright, who was second at 21:41.00.
Freshman Delaney Hopkins of Hernando took fourth place at 22:27.90.
Kaydi Blanchard paced Lewisburg in the girls’ meet, taking eighth place in a time of 24:20.30. Reese McNeer led Center Hill runners with a 24th place finish at 28:43.80.
Hernando took the girls’ team title over second-place Germantown 21-62. Lewisburg was fourth at 98 points and Center Hill took sixth place at 146 points.
