- Former Horn Lake High School boys’ basketball standout Ty Gordon was named Southland Conference basketball Player of the Week Monday, making conference history by being named to the award for the fourth straight week. A graduate student at Nicholls State in Thibodaux, Louisiana, Gordon extended his 20-point scoring streak to seven games with a career-high 29 points in the Colonels’ 104-90 loss to Purdue last Wednesday. His career-best nine made three-pointers set a Mackey Arena record and went down as the most made by an opponent against the Boilermakers.
- Two Memphis Hustle games scheduled to be played this week in Salt Lake City have been postponed and moved to future dates by the NBA G League. The Hustle are still to play at home on Jan. 10 against the Santa Cruz Warriors, starting at 7 p.m. at the Landers Center.
