Soccer all-star rosters released, new date announced

The Mississippi Association of Coaches has announced its Soccer All-Star teams for its annual game, set for Tuesday, Feb. 20 at Ridgeland High School. A change of date was made after the Mississippi High School Activities Association moved the end of the season ahead one week due to the snowy weather in January. The games were originally set for Feb. 17, which is now when state championship games are being played.

DeSoto County is represented on the all-star squads for the North from Lewisburg, Hernando, and DeSoto Central. The group includes Alden Dodge of DeSoto Central, Osvaldo Macias of Hernando, and Ronaldo Serna for the boys, along with Allie Kimbrell and Hannah Payne of Lewisburg, Wrenn Sanders and Emeline Smith of Hernando.

Coaches from Clinton will coach the North boys and coaches from New Hope (Columbus) will lead the North girls.
