Smith, Hood set Lewisburg swim records as Northpoint soccer wins 9–0

Lewisburg swimmers Anderson Smith and Emma Hood set school records at Tuesday's meet in Tupelo, and Northpoint Christian's girls soccer team beat St. Benedict at Auburndale 9–0. Four volleyball matches involving six DeSoto County teams also produced verified finals from Sept. 22.
Swimming
Smith won the boys 200-yard freestyle in a school-record 1:46.40 and later won the 100 breaststroke, according to the Lewisburg swim team. Hood placed second in the girls 100 butterfly while lowering her school record to 1:03.49. She was also second in the 200 freestyle.
For the boys, Jake Stock won the 200 individual medley and placed third in the 100 freestyle. Dylan Johnson finished fifth in the 200 IM and won the 500 freestyle. Logan Clay placed fourth in the 200 freestyle and won the 100 butterfly; Cole Walker took second in the 100 backstroke. The boys medley and 200 freestyle relays both placed second, and the 400 freestyle relay was fourth.
Quinlan Campbell won the girls 100 backstroke and finished second in the 100 freestyle; Aubrey Hood was fifth in the backstroke. Chloe Cummins placed second in the 500 freestyle and fifth in the 200 IM, where Evie Evans was third. Addi Black was fourth in the 100 breaststroke. The girls 200 freestyle relay placed second, while the medley and 400 freestyle relays placed third. Overall team scores were not posted. DeSoto Central also had a swim meet scheduled in Tupelo; its result is not yet reported.
Girls soccer
Northpoint defeated St. Benedict 9–0 at home in a district match. The match report confirms the final but lists no scorers.
Girls volleyball
Lewisburg swept Horn Lake 25–18, 25–4, 25–12 on senior night, according to its final-score graphic. MaxPreps still lists that county match as “Report Score.” In the other county meeting, Center Hill swept Lake Cormorant 25–18, 25–20, 25–23.
DeSoto Central beat visiting Northwest Rankin 25–5, 25–12, 25–15. Hernando lost at Tupelo in four sets, 23–25, 23–25, 25–20, 17–25.
Tuesday's scheduled Olive Branch–Saltillo and Northpoint–Evangelical Christian volleyball results are not yet reported. The Sept. 21 Northpoint–Harding Academy volleyball result also remains not yet reported. Northpoint's girls regional golf and boys golf match appeared in its earlier Sept. 22 calendar, but placements and scores are not yet reported.
