Olive Branch Basketball standout Rhema Pegues named to Dandy Dozen

Olive Branch Girls basketball standout Rhema Pegues was named one of the 12 top basketball players in the state of Mississippi, making the Clarion Ledgers annual Dandy Dozen list.

Pegues, a 5’8″ senior guard, was announced to the team over the Thanksgiving break.

Rhema has been a part of three state championship teams as a member of the Lady ‘Quistors.

In her high school career, Rhema has a high school basketball record of 75-11.

In the 2021 state championship game, she had 24 points and 15 rebounds to lead Olive Branch to a 73-53 win over Meridian claiming a third straight championship for her team. She was named the games MVP.

On top of her work on the court, she was named the top scholar athlete for Olive Branch before the state championship a season ago.

Olive Branch is again ranked among the top 6A girls teams in the state this season. They are 2-1 to start this year.
