Monday sports page: Center Hill wins another North Half soccer title

Feb. 10, 2025-The Center Hill boys’ soccer team will be returning to the MHSAA 6A state championship, awaiting either George County or West Jones for the title.
Center Hill traveled to Warren Central Monday evening and shut out the Vikings 2-0 to win the North Half championship.
The Mustangs scored single goals in each half of the contest to reach the finals for the second straight year. Last February, a late goal cost Center Hill the title as Long Beach won by a score of 3-2.
The Bearcats will not be waiting at state this time, however, as Long Beach lost to Picayune 3-0 in the first round of the playoffs. West Jones and George County meet Tuesday for the South Half championship.
Germantown High School in Madison is where the MHSAA 6A boys’ state final match will be played on Saturday night at 6 p.m.
