Monday sports: Jags, Lady Chargers take county track and field meet

DeSoto Central won the boys’ team championship and Southaven took the girls’ title at Saturday’s DeSoto County track and field meet at Lewisburg High School.  

The Jaguars won the boys crown with 198.50 points to second-place finisher Southaven with 161 points. Third place went to Olive Branch with 89 points and in fourth place was Hernando with 68 points.  

In the girls event, Southaven won 169 points to take the championship over second place Center Hill 137.50. In third place was DeSoto Central at 118 points and the fourth-place winner was Hernando at 85.50 points.
