Hustle drop Clippers to wrap up road trip
The Memphis Hustle finished a seven-game road trip with a 118-114 victory over the Agua Caliente Clippers, its second win over the Clippers in as many days. Memphis finished 5-2 on the season-long 13-day road trip.
Shaq Buchanan shot 7-for-14 from the field as he led the Hustle with 24 points, six rebounds and two steals. Santi Aldama scored 20 points with eight rebounds, two assists and five blocks while shooting 9-for-12 from the field. Damien Jefferson added 23 points, six rebounds and three assists in 31 minutes off the bench and Ahmad Caver tallied 15 points, four assists and three rebounds.
Xavier Moon led the Clippers with 27 points, six rebounds and four assists. George King and Shevon Thompson each notched double-doubles with King scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and Thompson grabbing a game-high 16 rebounds with 17 points.
Memphis trailed by one point with under two minutes remaining before outscoring Agua Caliente 9-4 in crunch time, highlighted by buckets from Aldama, Hearn and Buchanan. Memphis outscored the Clippers 32-23 in the fourth quarter, led by eight points from Aldama in the final four minutes of play to secure the victory.
The Hustle took a one-point lead into the locker room at halftime with Aldama and Jefferson each scoring 12 points. Moody led all scorers with 15 points for the Clippers in the first half.
The Hustle return to Landers Center to host the Salt Lake City Stars on Wednesday, Mar. 16, at 7 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
