Hoshell places third at Shelby Farms as Northpoint runners post Wednesday finishes
Aiden Hoshell finished third in the boys 5-kilometer race Wednesday, Sept. 16, leading Northpoint Christian at the MYA High School XC Meet No. 2 at Shelby Farms in Memphis.
Hoshell ran 18 minutes, 55 seconds in a field of 122 finishers. Campbell Phillips led Northpoint’s girls, placing 27th in 25:21 among 82 finishers.
Northpoint cross country
The Trojans placed ninth among 11 scoring boys teams with 233 points. Lakeland Preparatory won the team competition with 66 points, followed by Christian Brothers with 90 and St. Benedict with 96, according to the official team results.
Eli McKinney finished 40th in 21:41 for Northpoint, followed by Eli Winebrenner, 55th in 22:51; Parker Routh, 83rd in 24:42; Colin Tolbert, 85th in 24:47; and Hartford Rivera, 120th in 35:48.
Joining Phillips in the girls race were Payton Routh, 50th in 30:18; Chloe King, 53rd in 30:25; and Mabry McKinney, 67th in 33:04. Northpoint had four girls finishers and was not listed in the girls team standings. Memphis Youth Athletics timed the meet; individual results are posted on MileSplit.
Thursday’s schedule
Four county volleyball matchups are on the Sept. 17 varsity schedule. Hernando visits Lake Cormorant at a listed 10:15 a.m. start. At 6 p.m., DeSoto Central travels to Lewisburg, Center Hill hosts Olive Branch and Horn Lake hosts South Panola.
Northpoint’s girls varsity soccer schedule lists a home match against St. George’s at 5 p.m. Thursday. All listed times are Mississippi local time.
