October 13, 2026 | DeSoto County Sports Today

Lewisburg won the final three sets at Germantown on Monday, October 12, to reach the Class 7A volleyball championship, while Center Hill secured a Class 6A title-match berth with a four-set road win at Neshoba Central. The two girls varsity victories send DeSoto County teams into Thursday’s state finals.

Lewisburg rallies in Madison

The Patriots fell behind 26–24, 25–15 before reversing the match with wins of 25–19, 26–24 and 15–7. Their 3–2 semifinal victory improved their posted record to 34–8 and ended Germantown’s season at 28–9.

Lewisburg had to win a close fourth set to force the deciding fifth, then finished with an eight-point margin. The comeback also reversed the teams’ August 20 meeting, when Germantown won in five sets at Lewisburg. Monday’s result gave the Patriots a 2–1 edge in their three posted meetings this season.

Center Hill wins in four

Center Hill opened with a 25–14 win in Philadelphia. Neshoba Central answered 25–20, but the Mustangs took the next two sets 25–22 and 25–17 to complete their 3–1 semifinal win.

The Mustangs improved to 17–11, while Neshoba Central finished with a posted 36–5 record. Center Hill has won all three of its playoff matches, following sweeps of Callaway and Saltillo with Monday’s four-set victory.

Thursday’s championship matchups

Lewisburg faces Ocean Springs in the Class 7A final Thursday, October 15, at 6 p.m. Mississippi time. Center Hill meets Hancock in the Class 6A final the same day; conflicting posted start times require confirmation.
