A candidate for state Representative in DeSoto County Monday, April 10, announced he had received an endorsement from a non-profit organization which says its intent is “to restore the original intent of the United States.”

Restore Liberty announced it is backing John T. Williams in the race for House District 28. Williams is facing W. I. “Doc” Harris in the Republican primary and Democrats did not field a candidate in the race.

“John T. Williams is committed to our traditional values, preserving the God-given rights guaranteed to us by the U.S. Constitution, and ensuring fair and free elections through educating the public and fellow lawmakers, legislative acts, and transparency,” said Restore Liberty in a news release.

”I am honored to receive the full and total endorsement of Restore Liberty in my campaign for Mississippi State House, District 28,” Williams said.  “As a candidate, I am committed to fighting for our constitutionally-protected rights, for fair and free elections, and to ensuring the citizens of Mississippi are able to pursue happiness by embracing true liberty.”
