Teenager arrested in shooting incident

One person is in custody after a shooting in Horn Lake early Thursday morning.

The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department reported deputies responded to a “shots fired” call about 6:20 a.m. Thursday morning in the area of state Highway 301 and Goodman Road West.

On arrival, it was determined a suspect had taken a car from the Crescent Apartments and the victim had followed the suspect to a nearby gas station where the shots were fired. It was not immediately determined who fired the shots in question.

Deputies brought in a K-9 dog and a drone to search the area and a 16-year-old juvenile was later found and arrested on Brenda Cove in Horn Lake shortly before 9 a.m.  The suspect was taken to Regional One Health for treatment of an injury.

The Sheriff’s Department said the investigation into the shooting was ongoing.
