City officials praised the Public Works Department, saying the crew keeps Southaven running by maintaining the city’s infrastructure.
Officials said the department fixes traffic signals and street signs, repairs potholes, cleans storm sewers and collects supplemental sanitation.
The crew also works on vehicles and equipment and performs routine grounds maintenance, city officials said. They work long hours in all kinds of weather to respond to issues.
In a statement, city officials said they appreciate the department’s work and that the crew is “ready to show up and tackle anything that comes their way.”
