Southaven man arrested on charge of grooming a child
A Southaven man was arrested last week on a Jackson County warrant accusing him of grooming a child, according to authorities.
Justin Bryant Giles, 38, of Thornwood Drive in Southaven, was arrested April 21 by the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department at the request of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said the arrest stems from a report made March 8. Investigators said Giles allegedly used social media to build a relationship with a child in Vancleave.
Giles was transported April 24 to the Jackson County Adult Detention Center. He made an initial appearance in County Court on April 27, where Judge Mark Watts set his bond at $250,000.
Watts also revoked Giles’ previous bond in a separate grand larceny case out of DeSoto County, according to authorities.
Giles is charged with grooming of a child. His case remains under investigation.
