Southaven Animal Shelter Declares April 12-18 Animal Control Appreciation Week

April 12-18, 2026, will be Animal Control Appreciation Week, the Southaven Animal Shelter said.

The shelter said the animal control team often works in challenging and emotional situations. It said staff step into the unknown to protect animals and to help ensure public safety.

The shelter said staff have helped countless families find companions and have reunited many lost pets with their owners.
