Southaven police Sunday announced a Silver Alert has been issued for a missing man. Officers responded to a missing person call for George David McGee, a 74-year-old black male with dementia.

Police said McGee left his residence on Saturday, July 16 in a green 1997 Ford Ranger with a matching green camper.

The Ford Ranger was later pulled over in Birmingham, Alabama about 5 a.m. Sunday before he was reported missing, police said, adding he has also been seen in Lee County, Mississippi on a county road going door-to-door looking for his wife.

A Silver Alert has now been issued for McGee. The Ford Ranger he was driving has DeSoto County license tag DBY-3109.

If you see McGee or his Ford Ranger, you are asked to call your local law enforcement agency, or call 911.
