Schools set to hold graduation ceremonies

Beginning Thursday, the eight high schools of the DeSoto County School District will hold their graduation ceremonies at the Landers Center in Southaven.

The list of the high school graduations are as follows:

  • Hernando  – Thursday, May 20 at 7 p.m.
  • Horn Lake – Friday, May 21 at 7 p.m.
  • Olive Branch – Saturday, May 22 at 10 a.m.
  • Lake Cormorant – Saturday, May 22 at 3 p.m.
  • Center Hill – Saturday, May 22 at 7 p.m.
  • DeSoto Central – Sunday, May 23 at 3 p.m.
  • Southaven – Monday, May 24 at 7 p.m.
  • Lewisburg – Tuesday, May 25 at 7 p.m.

Landers Center general manager Todd Mastry said the school district and the Landers Center continue to follow state guidelines where social distancing and masks are not mandated.

“Students will be distanced on the floor and in waiting areas,” Mastry said. “The only Executive Order remaining is that all public school students K-12 must remain masked because they are too young to receive the vaccination. Hence why students will be distanced as well as the CDC recommendations are to have graduates a minimum of three feet distanced.”

Mastry also provided the following information regarding the Landers Center using a Clear Bag Policy for items brought into the center for events held there.
