Saulsberry to be eulogized at Northpoint Tuesday

Northpoint Christian School has announced that a vigil to honor the life of the late Christian Saulsberry will be held Tuesday at the school.

Northpoint made the announcement on its social media channels Monday.

Saulsberry starred in football at Northpoint and followed that success to a career at Itawamba Community College, University of West Alabama, and eventually to become a return specialist for the Canadian Football League’s Edmonton Elks. He also played in the FCF (Fan Controlled Football).

He was shot at a party at Walls over the weekend and later died of his wounds. He was age 25.

Funeral plans for Saulsberry were to be announced at a later date.

24-year-old Mark McDaniel of Memphis was later arrested at his residence by Memphis Police Saturday afternoon. He’s charged with second degree murder and was to be extradited back to DeSoto County.
