Olive Branch police host dual-purpose K-9 graduation

The Olive Branch Police Department said it held a dual-purpose K-9 graduation last week for handlers and their K-9 partners who completed an intensive training program. The department said the program demands discipline, teamwork and commitment.

The department identified the graduates as Leslie Sharp of the Mississippi Department of Public Safety; Jaylan Payton of the Mississippi Highway Patrol; Brooke Defore of the Louisiana Department of Corrections; and David Kohle of the Marion Police Department in Arkansas.

The post credited Officer Michael Murphy with leading and coordinating the training and praised his dedication. It also thanked Chaplain Dean Stewart for offering the opening prayer and the Olive Branch Police Department for hosting and providing hospitality.

The message, signed by Olive Branch Mayor Ken Adams, congratulated the graduates and said their work strengthens their agencies and the communities they serve.
