Olive Branch officials warn of enhanced severe weather risk
Olive Branch Mayor Ken Adams and the Olive Branch Fire and Police departments warned April 28, 2026, that parts of Mississippi are under an Enhanced Risk (Level 3 of 5) for severe storms, officials said.
The posts said the main threats include damaging winds up to 70 mph, golf-ball-size hail and possible tornadoes, and added that a strong tornado cannot be ruled out.
Officials advised residents to stay weather-aware throughout the day, to have multiple ways to receive warnings and to know their safe place in case warnings are issued, according to the statements.
The mayor and the city departments urged residents to take the threat seriously and to follow any warnings or instructions issued by emergency personnel, the posts said.
