Olive Branch Community Blood Drive scheduled for August 19

The Olive Branch community will have the opportunity to donate blood next week, with a drive scheduled for Aug. 19 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot at 9200 Pigeon Roost Road, Vitalant announced.

Organizers emphasized that summer is a challenging time for maintaining the nation’s blood supply. Donors who give blood between Aug. 1 and Aug. 31 will receive a $15 Rewards Gift Card and be entered into a drawing for a gas giveaway, Vitalant said.

Appointments are encouraged and can be scheduled online at donors.vitalant.org using the blood drive code olivebranch1. Donors are advised to bring a photo ID and drink plenty of water before donating, officials added.

Ken Adams, mayor of Olive Branch, urged community members to participate, noting that a single donation can help save multiple lives.
