Northwest campuses closed May 1 for employee appreciation day

Northwest Mississippi Community College announced Friday that all its campuses and offices will be closed to students and the public on May 1, 2026, for an employee appreciation day, the college said.

The college said the event is for Northwest employees only.

The college advised students and members of the public to visit northwestms.edu or use the site’s chatbot for answers to any questions, according to the announcement.

The college apologized for the inconvenience and said campuses will reopen Monday, May 4, 2026.

In the announcement, the college said it is thankful for the employees who help make the college run and wanted to recognize their work with the event.
