Nesbit license bureau closed

The Mississippi Department of Public Safety Thursday announced that the Nesbit Driver Service Bureau is closed until further notice. No official reason was listed for the closure in its announcement on social media, but it appears bureau employees were sick and that caused the closure.

Those booking online appointments should use other Driver Service Bureaus in the area, including the Olive Branch bureau.

The Nesbit license bureau is located at 159 License Drive, off U.S. Highway 51. The Olive Branch location is at 6569 Cockrum Drive.

Drivers License Bureaus are open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

DeSoto County News has sent an email to the Department of Public Safety asking for an explanation of the bureau closure and was still awaiting a response.

However, when we visited the bureau Friday morning. we were told illness among the employees was the reason for the closure.
