Mississippi woman sentenced to 40 years for shooting and robbery
Hernando, Miss. — Jaquillna Twilley, 24, was sentenced to 40 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to attempted murder and armed robbery, according to authorities.
Twilley received a 30-year sentence for attempted murder and a 10-year sentence for armed robbery. The sentences will run consecutively and are also to be served after her current sentence, officials said.
The charges stem from a shooting and robbery at a home barber shop in Horn Lake. The Horn Lake Police Department identified Twilley as the suspect and took her into custody following an investigation.
“This sentence would not have been possible without the outstanding work of the Horn Lake Police Department,” District Attorney Matthew Barton said. “Because of their efforts, a violent criminal will spend the next 40 years behind bars instead of threatening our community.”
The case was investigated by the Horn Lake Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Roshawrin Williams.
