“Mom’s Best Brown Rice”

While everyone has different holiday traditions, one common thread that most families share is food.
Some DeSoto County business owners are sharing their favorite festive dishes for you to try this holiday.
“This is a must have at our Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Merry Christmas!” said Dawn Ventura of Mr. Donut in Horn Lake.
Mom’s Best Brown Rice
Ingredients:
- 2 C Brown Rice
- 2 Cans Beef Consomme Soup
- 1 Stick Butter
- 1 C Water
Instructions:
Melt butter in a baking dish. Add soup, water, and rice. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour until liquid is absorbed and rice is tender. If in a hurry, this can be microwaved. Add extras as you like- green onion, water chestnuts, mushrooms, etc.
