Large Scale Verizon Outage Affecting Area

Northern District Public Service Commissioner Chris Brown confirmed Wednesday that a widespread service outage is currently affecting thousands of Verizon customers throughout the region.

According to a statement released by the commissioner’s office, reports indicate that customers are experiencing significant disruptions to phone, text, and data services.

“We are aware of a service outage affecting thousands of Verizon customers across parts of the region,” Brown said.

The commissioner advised residents impacted by the outage to monitor Verizon’s official channels for updates regarding service restoration. He further recommended that customers utilize alternative communication methods, such as Wi-Fi calling or landlines, where possible.

Brown also addressed potential safety risks associated with the loss of connectivity.

“If the outage affects your ability to access essential services or creates a safety concern, please take appropriate precautions and contact local authorities if necessary,” the statement read.

No timeline for full restoration was immediately provided.
