Internet issues affecting county business

UPDATE: Internet service was returned to the building at 1:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

ORIGINAL POST: DeSoto County offices are having trouble getting some of its business done Thursday morning, April 6, reporting a feeder trunk line of the internet provider was cut. They are reporting that it could take hours to repair the problem.  

In the meantime, here is how the loss of the internet service is affecting county business:  

EMAIL:  Departments are unable to send or receive external emails.

PAYMENTS: Any services the county provides that requires payment will not be able to process credit or debit cards.

TAX COLLECTOR: Can NOT process tags or registration. They can accept property tax payments made with cash, checks, or money orders.

CHANCERY COURT: Payments only cash, checks, or money orders.

JUSTICE COURT:  Payments only by cash or money order.

CIRCUIT COURT:  Unable to access court dates, judgment rolls, voter registration.  Only accepting cash, cashiers checks, or money orders.

PLANNING: Unable to file for inspections online.  Call 662-469-8023 for inspections.
