Interstate crash clogs traffic near Hernando

We expect to receive details Thursday morning from the Mississippi Highway Patrol on a four-vehicle accident on I-55 near Hernando Wednesday afternoon.
First reports of the accident came in about 3:30 p.m. and southbound traffic especially ground to a halt. The collision near the Commerce Street exit and the Rest Area near Hernando.
The Highway Patrol later posted a photo with the southbound traffic stopped and said it was a four-vehicle accident that had taken place.

About 7:45 p.m., the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department alert system announced that traffic was flowing smoothly on the interstate.
There have been no initial reports of injuries.
