Police say 20-year-old Cortez Bradford of Horn Lake is charged with aggravated domestic assault and possession of a stolen weapon.

Under Mississippi law, aggravated domestic assault is a felony. It applies when someone is accused of seriously injuring, or attempting to seriously injure, a family or household member or dating partner, including with a deadly weapon. Possessing a stolen firearm is also a felony in Mississippi. The case will move through the DeSoto County court system, where prosecutors with the DeSoto County District Attorney’s Office will decide how to proceed.
The department did not say whether a bond has been set or when Bradford will appear in court. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
A Busy Stretch for Horn Lake Police
The arrest is the second high-profile shooting case for Horn Lake police in less than a week. Over the weekend, officers investigated a deadly shooting at a Horn Lake restaurant that killed one man and wounded two other people. A murder warrant was issued in that case.
