Hernando aldermen honor former board member

At the most recent Hernando Board of Aldermen meeting, the board approved a resolution honoring the late Walter “Gene” Norward, a former Hernando alderman who passed away from COVID-19 in November 2020. Norwood was a lifelong resident of Hernando and was active in the real estate business in DeSoto County for many years.

Members of the Board of Aldermen, along with Mayor Chip Johnson, recently visited with Mrs. Janie Norwood to present her with the city’s proclamation.
