Garden club helps in tree giveaway

DeSoto Civic Garden Club (DCGC) members were up early on Feb. 10 to assist with the Annual Public Tree Giveaway.  The event, sponsored by the DeSoto County Soil and Water Conservation District, was held at the BankPlus Sports Center in Southaven.

During this event, DCGC Co-President Lynn Dye and Associate Member JoAnne Jewett helped wrap and distribute the seedlings to the public recipients.  Blueberry Bush, Ginkgo, Hydrangea, Native Pecan, PawPaw and Yoshino Cherry were just a few of the many available seedlings given away.

The DeSoto Civic Garden Club is a member of the National Garden Clubs, Inc., Deep South Garden Clubs, Inc., and The Garden Clubs of Mississippi, Inc., Hills and Delta District.
