Flag Day commemorates 1777 resolution, Olive Branch mayor says

Flag Day marks the anniversary of the Flag Resolution of 1777, Ken Adams, Olive Branch mayor, said.

Adams said President Woodrow Wilson issued a presidential proclamation on May 30, 1916, declaring June 14 the national Flag Birthday.

Adams said the resolution adopted in 1777 is commemorated each year on June 14. He said the accompanying photo was taken in front of City Hall in 2017.
