First Regional Library awarded for promoting services

The First Regional Library (FRL) system was recognized with two public relations awards at the recent Mississippi Library Association Annual Conference.

FRL was given the award for the Best Coordinated Effort of Several Libraries for Publicize Library Services in General, and the Best Coordinated Effort of Several Libraries to Publicize Library Services Around a Single Theme or Event.

There are 14 branches of the First Regional Library system in northwest Mississippi, including five in DeSoto County. They are the libraries in Horn Lake, Walls, Southaven, Olive Branch, and in Hernando.

Accepting the awards for the First Regional Library system were David Brown, First Regional Library Marketing Manager, and Lori Barnes, Director of First Regional Library.
