DeSoto County EMT Class recognized

As part of Monday’s Board of Supervisors meeting, proclamations were issued to 13 graduates of the county’s initial Basic EMT Class.

DeSoto County EMS Director Mark Davis saw a need for qualified EMS personnel in DeSoto County, so set about developing and creating an EMT Class that would be state-approved.

Davis and paramedic Danny Eytchison taught the 216-hour class. 

The students went on to take the Mississippi EMT Certification examination, which county officials said reflected the type of training they received during the Basic EMT Class.
