DeSoto County Dining Week set for January

Many venture to DeSoto County for shopping, concerts or youth sports tournaments, but it’s the exceptional cuisine offered at dozens of locally owned establishments that keeps guests coming back year round.

With this in mind, DeSoto County Tourism (DCT) is making moves to shine a light on the culinary scene that makes the top of the ‘Sip a foodie’s dream.

“We look at small businesses as the backbone of our community,” said Jon Frost DeSoto County Tourism/Landers Center Marketing Director. “After the COVID-19 pandemic, restaurants became more flexible in how they did their business. We wanted to do something and really shine a light on our culinary scene because it is quite diverse and outstanding.”

Mark your calendars for Sunday, Jan. 21-Saturday Jan. 27, 2024, for the first ever DeSoto County Dining Week. Restaurateurs, coffee shop owners and dessert shop gurus are being asked to participate.

“We wanted the businesses to be flexible and participate in a way that works for them,” Frost said. “We publicize their special to the local community around the Mid-South during DeSoto County Dining Week.”

  • What does it entail? Participants will offer a special deal Jan. 21-Jan. 27 (percentage off a dish or drink, combo meal or menu item sold for a special price, etc.) Identify an offer that works best for you.
  • How will it be promoted? Participants will be listed on a dedicated page on the DCT website, in a blog post and in an email newsletter. A DeSoto County Dining Week window cling will be delivered to participating restaurants.
  • How can I confirm my participation? Email victoria@obsidianpr.com by Jan. 1, 2024. The sooner you make contact, the sooner your restaurant will be included in promotions.
  • When do I need to identify my special offer? We recommend setting your special offer by Jan. 5 to ensure ample time for you to promote it.
