Deputy-involved shooting being investigated
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and the District Attorney’s office are handling the investigation of a weekend shooting that involved a DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department deputy.
The shooting apparently took place Saturday night but very few details are being released at this time.
Tish Clark, spokeswoman for the Sheriff’s Department, could only confirm that a shooting took place.
“I can confirm there was a shooting involving one of our DCSD deputies, but it’s being investigated & handled by the MBI & the DA’s office,” Clark said. “It’s still an open investigation.”
