Traffic was slowed on I-55 in Hernando for a time Friday shortly after 12 noon when two separate accidents took place, one caused by slowed drivers trying to get a passing glance at the other.

Hernando Police Chief Shane Ellis reported that one crash occurred southbound on I-55 when a truck pulling a camper overturned.

As a result, northbound traffic slowed and two 18-wheelers crashed into the slowing cars.

Ellis said there were no deaths and two minor injuries were sustained with those injured taken to the hospital for treatment. The interstate was reopened to traffic Friday evening.
