COVID-19 numbers update

On Friday, the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reported 2,212 new cases of COVID-19 and there were 50 additional death reports in the state. 

Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020, the number of positive cases reported in the state is at 776,717 and there have been 11,558 people who have died from COVID-19 in Mississippi.

Information on vaccines is also available on the MSDH website. Vaccinations are available for all residents age 5 and older.  

Click here for the county-by-county totals. DeSoto County has seen a total of 48,924 cases and 514 people have died from COVID-19. 

The newest MSDH report shows that, as of Feb. 11, 1,499,776 people in Mississippi are fully vaccinated and 3,688,097 doses have been administered in total. Forty-six percent of DeSoto County’s population are now fully vaccinated and 52 percent have had one dose of the vaccine.
