County holds Household Hazardous Waste Day on Saturday

A total of 512 vehicles took advantage of the DeSoto County Household Hazardous Waste Day Saturday morning, May 5, at the Landers Center. County officials said Monday, May 6 that the turnout was the most they’ve had in many years of the annual activity.

DeSoto County Government holds the event each year, a community service that provides a safe way for residents to dispose of hazardous household waste.

Waste tire recycling is also offered during the annual activity.

The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality funds the event in collaboration with the DeSoto County Board of Supervisors.
