Beans and Leaves to add DeSoto Center location

Have you heard the story about the coffee bean and loaded tea who went to college? You will now. Beans & Leaves is opening a second location inside the 155,000 square-foot Northwest DeSoto Campus, conveniently located off of Church Road in Southaven where students obtain an associate degree offered by Northwest Mississippi Community College and bachelor’s degree offered by the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss)

This news comes just eight months after the debut of their current space in Southaven’s bustling Silo Square development in the Snowden District, where customers cannot get enough of their unique beverage and menu offerings. Iced drinks such as their cold brew, Italian cream sodas made with Red Bull, fruit smoothies, Loaded Teas like the “Purple Rain” and “Rebel Raspberry” as well as their various empanada offerings are some of the most popular menu items.

“We are extremely excited about expanding our footprint in DeSoto County by opening up our DeSoto Campus location which, while inside the Northwest DeSoto Campus, is open to both students and faculty as well as the general public. When we approached Northwest about taking over their café space on the second floor, we knew it would be a fantastic partnership and a great way to provide students and staff a place to enjoy quality beverages and food without having to leave campus,” said Beans & Leaves owners Margarita and Mark LeBlanc.

Beans & Leaves at the DeSoto Campus will offer a menu of customer favorites from their Silo Square location as well as grab-n-go options for those hurrying to their next class or studying with friends nearby.

“We are truly excited about Beans and Leaves being on campus to serve our students, faculty, and staff,” said Dr. Keith Reed, dean of DeSoto Center.  “Beans and Leaves will be a welcomed addition to the DeSoto Campus!”

While the lease was just signed a few weeks ago, the family is gearing up to be open as students arrive on campus Monday, August 15th for their first full day of the Fall 2022 Semester. In fact, Beans & Leaves is a family affair. Mark and Margarita’s daughters, Brittani Brawner, a graduate of DeSoto Central and DeSoto County resident and Cassandra McArdle, a Pennsylvanian trained barista relocating to DeSoto County, are assisting to manage both locations.

Hours for the DeSoto Campus location will be Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 1:30 PM and 4:00 – 8:00 PM.
