A bank with locations in DeSoto County has started a program to allow its employees to support local nonprofits.

As part of BankFirst’s initiative to give back to DeSoto County, BankFirst allows team members to select a nonprofit organization to support with donations throughout the year.

So far, BankFirst has donated $1,000 to House of Grace, a Domestic Violence Shelter that has operated in North Mississippi for over twenty years; $1,000 to the Dream Center, which provides essentials such as food, education, clothing, and healthcare, helping families and individuals to dream again; $1,000 to Youth Villages, which offers innovative, evidence-based, family-focused services to support children and their families, as well as services for young adults transitioning out of foster care; and $1,000 to The Arc Northwest Mississippi, which is a nonprofit serving the disability communities of Northwest Mississippi by offering programs, education, and connection to achieve the best life possible.

“We know by giving back to local nonprofits, we are investing in the people right here in DeSoto County and ultimately improving the communities we serve,” said DeSoto County President Kyle McCoy.
